About the task

Our North Finchley is planning a Walkathon on 14 June around the Glebelands Open Space, to fundraise for local charities.

In advance, they have asked for help to clear up the area, which is rife with litter. In particular, there's a lot of rubbish in the undergrowth around the (St.) Albanians' Football Club, which will be the base for the team during the Walkathon.

We'll meet members of the community on the corner of the Glebelands Open Space at 10:30. We'll split into teams and clean up as much as we can. No need to stay for the full two hours.

There's a fitness trail around the 1km edge of the open space with stopping points for star jumps, balances and so on. We'll do a quick bonus lap of the field at the end of the session for those with time to spare, to boost our health!

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym community mission. When we're doing a community mission we make our own way to the task, so you can choose to walk, run, or cycle. Thinking of cycling - check out our FAQs

GoodGym is a community of people that get fit by doing good. We run, walk and cycle to do practical tasks for community organisations and isolated older people.
