Getting there

For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!

    About this session

Join us in the beautiful gardens of St Mathew’s Church, Bethnal Green to help clear a patch and enable access to a walnut tree. We were there recently, and received a great reception from the lovely “Lady Andrea”

The church was built 1743–46. A fire in 1859 destroyed the interior of the church, which was rebuilt in 1861 but the roof and interior were destroyed by enemy action in 1940. The whole church was rebuilt from 1958 to 1961 with an interior including works by eminent 20th-century ecclesiastical artists
