This week we’ll be returning to help out at the Independent Newham Users’ Forum (INUF) – a user-led mental health charity based in Stratford.
INUF supports people living with mental health challenges in the borough of Newham. Their community hub at Ithaca House hosts a wide range of wellbeing activities including drop-ins, yoga, art, dance and other sessions that help people connect, express themselves and thrive.
The garden space provides a safe, calming environment that supports wellbeing, social connection and therapeutic activities, and tidying it will make it more accessible and enjoyable for everyone who uses it.
Tasks are likely to include:
Everyone is welcome to join - no previous experience is required and all tools and instructions will be provided.
How to join
There are two ways to join:
Option 1 – Run from the Freaks & Geeks (sign-up above)
We’ll leave together at 18:40 to run to the task - we may take a scenic route through West Ham park!
Option 2 – Meet at the task
Meet us directly at Ithaca House at 19:00.
Whichever option you choose, we’ll spend around an hour helping in the garden. Come along for some fresh air, teamwork and the chance to make a real difference to a community space. 🌱
INUF is an independent user-led organisation based in the borough of Newham. Our aim is to support adults diagnosed with mental illness and their carers by providing various support and activities that improve their wellbeing, build confidence and enhance their recovery. INUF has developed a safe hub and a holistic programme of support, which encompasses a range of activities that include the Drop-in, Yoga and Relaxation and Football sessions. We also provide a two day Advocacy support service and we also provide volunteering opportunities for our members and Newham residents.
