Getting there

For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!

    About this session

Volunteering at a parkrun is a great way to give back and be part of a welcoming community AND you get a good deed for it too!

There are plenty of roles to choose from, including marshalling, barcode scanning, handing out finish tokens, tail walking, and more. If you already have a role in mind, just mention it in your email.

For more information, including FAQs and current role availability, please check the parkrun volunteer page and roster on the links below.

Please make sure you email the parkrun email address to sign up to the role you'd like!

There are Parkruns in the following locations:

Top Tip: Did you know you can run and volunteer at the same event? There are many roles before, during, and after the event that allow you to do both, such as First Timers Welcome, Event Day Course Check, Pre-event Setup, Park Walker, Tail Walker, Pacer, Token sorting, and Post-event Close Down. You can find a full description of the roles here.

There is normally a post Parkrun coffee spot - ask around and join for a brew if you can. There are often other GoodGymers around but not always and there will be plenty of other friendly volunteers who will make you feel welcome. Feel free to write a report for the GoodGym site if you'd like!

Please make sure you check the Parkrun volunteer page for the one you've signed up for to make sure it's on. Events are occasionally cancelled if the route isn't safe due to weather conditions.
