For this session we will be helping Friends of Morley Park with some gardening jobs during their monthly volunteering session (this starts before the GoodGym team arrives onsite, so you are welcome to join them beforehand).
Jobs likely to include: clearing pathways (perimeter path and Woodland Walk), dead-hedging, watering (cans), tree-popping (removing saplings with a ‘tree popper’), removing Horsetail.
Bring gardening gloves, and carry water (it's recommended to wear a hat/suncream if it's warm).
Meet at the Morley Park entrance on Cottenham Park Road in the car park area (note that there are bicycle racks a short distance inside the park area, straight ahead and to the left of the car park).
GROUP RUN DETAILS: meeting point at 6.30pm is The Leather Bottle, 277 Kingston Road, London SW19 3NW - distance will be 3km. There will also be a run back. Please sign up to indicate you will be joining this so we know who to expect.
Morley Park is located in West Wimbledon, between Copse Hill and Cottenham Park Road. It has been leased to Merton Council by Berkeley Homes as part of the requirements of the planning consent for the Wimbledon Hill Park development. It comprises playing fields, a pavilion, woodland and meadow.
