Getting there

For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!

    About this session

Southwark Foodbank need help getting their much-needed food parcels to those in need.

Southwark Foodbank needs a couple of volunteers to support their driver delivering parcels during this foodbank sessions (15:00 - 16:00). If you can fulfill the 60 minutes and are happy lifting between 11kg and 19kg, they would be grateful if you could help them. The cost-of-living crisis means that more people are being referred to their foodbanks, so they need to ensure that the food parcels from their warehouse is delivered in time. This session will cover taking/collecting left over food parcels from Bermondsey Methodist Church, Bermondsey Street, SE1 3UJ and deliver them back to their warehouse (121a Peckham High Street, SE15 5SE). This shift will start at Bermondsey Methodist Church at 3:00pm and ends at their warehouse in Peckham at 4:00pm.

In addition to signing up, please could you email foodbank.support@pecan.org.uk with "GoodGym Volunteer" in the subject line, so they are aware too.

    Helping local people in crisis

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
