For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!
Let’s make Welling Station a little more bee-utiful! 🐝
For this session we'll be joining the Bumblebee Conservation Trust for a bee-friendly planting session at Welling Station in Bexley (a B.E.E Community Hub).
Important - as well as signing up to this listing, you will need to book a place via this link, so the event organisers know to expect you: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/welling-station-bee-project-bumblebee-planting-session-tickets-2002285744562
The task
We’ll be getting our hands dirty planting bee-friendly flowers to create new habitats for pollinators. Along the way, we’ll learn some simple habitat-building techniques and find out more about the needs of our native bumblebee species.
The plants are being provided by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s SE London B.E.E Project, and Project Officer Tilly will be on hand to guide us through the session.
It’s a lovely opportunity to support local wildlife, spend time outdoors and make a positive difference to our local environment. The activity is light and suitable for all experience levels, so no gardening expertise is needed, just a willingness to get stuck in!
What to bring
Please bring gardening gloves 🧤 and any gardening hand tools you have available. Wear outdoor clothing suitable for the activity, with your GoodGym T-shirt (if you have one) underneath your outer layers, ready for those all-important photos.
