A warm, balmy Kingston tonight made for an extra workout and especially for Caroline running in her new golden wings for her 100th good deed tonight.

Congratulations Caroline.

We also welcomed Matt on his first GoodGym run and to Zi for racking up his 3rd.

We started off tonight with some new warm ups from Mark in Market Place – special cones to mark out North, South, East and West points that we had to run too. We thought we knew which way north was in Kingston until Mark had us fooled (and himself too we think) with his very own versions!

Then off to mow and weed the grounds at Mencap , located at the Searchlight community centre – a centre that hosts, trains and educate folk with learning disabilities. The grounds needed a big GoodGym spruce with all hands-on deck needed – well on the clunky old mower and on the paving to pull up a lot of nasty weeds and to pick up plastic litter. A dodgy blade wouldn’t leave us forLAWN and we didn’t MOWN about it but had a WEEDLY GOOD TIME!

Don’t forget…

  • Poole launches tonight so head over to the GG site and give them a cheer for their efforts
  • We have a social next week to raise a glass to Caroline for her fabulous achievement as well as biding a very sad farewell to Nik and Nicky - a great loss to the GoodGym team
  • Oh and one more congratulations next week for someone who will be completing their final run as a single lady!
  • Finally don’t forget to sign up to the mountain of community missions this Saturday!
