9 runners met at the Wildcat Wilderness on the hottest weekend of the year, for the very first of a series of, fortnightly Good Gym x Wildcat missions!

After a quick introduction about this magical place to those who hadn't visited before, we were soon gathering up a range of tools to deal with the weeds and bramble in the orchard area. This area needs to be cleared to make way for a new outdoor classroom which will hopefully be built soon.

Physical distancing was no problem given that most volunteers chose to use weed-bashers - the perfect tool to ensure that 2-metre distancing rule!

Towards the end of the session it was tools down and tupperware up as we spent a few moments picking some of the wild blackberries that cover the site - a thank you from Maria to the Good Gym team. We look forward to sampling some of Kim's homemade jam at the next session!
