Six do-gooders met to run 2.5km to plant and weed for Alara Wholefoods during Volunteers Week

Well the weather decided to be hot and get hotter during the session. We met at lunchtime in the midst of a Bloomsbury Foodcycle Lunch.

We were evenly split between newbies and regulars, welcome to Rhia, James and Ella. It was fantastic to hear about Rhia's Disney World Marathon and how James and Ella have just moved from Sydney to live in London - a GoodGym Camden welcome to you!

Newbies

In the GG news this week we talked about the Goodgym Parkrun at Highbury Fields this Saturday and the Regents Park 10km in August which a number of us are taking part in. It would be amazing to have you join us.

Our task location this week was at Alara Wholefoods, after a quick warm up we ran together there through Kings Cross and arrived to meet Alex. He explained that we'd be planting and watering tomato plants and weeding around the orchards.

Planting!

We got to work planting each tomato plant half a metre apart among some other beans, apricots and turnips. Everyone got stuck in digging! After finishing our planting we headed over to the Orchard Project to do some weeding, this really is important to do and something Alex was particularly happy to get help on!

Muesli

The lovely Alex gave us each a box of muesli as a thank you which meant we were all a bit unbalanced on the run home along the canal.

Thank you to everyone who came, we hope you enjoyed it! Sign up for Wednesday's group run here, we'll be going to Cecil Sharp House to do some gardening.

PB out.
