It was great to join Cecelia for our first mission together as we met up in Easton in the sweltering late afternoon heat today.

As Mr L answered the door Cecelia realised that she had been here before for her very first mission at which they’d moved lots of furniture downstairs, so that Mr L’s wife could be set up with a micro environment in one of the living rooms to make caring for her easier.

However her carers had reported that it was difficult to move around in the room and felt that it would be easier to manage if a wardrobe was moved back upstairs, hence the mission request to GoodGym.

First we needed to bring a dressing table unit, complete with mirror, from an upstairs bedroom down to the garden, ready for collection. With Cecilia taking the bottom and myself the top, we had quickly manoeuvred the unit down to the garden.

Now it was time for the main event! We used some old tights to fasten the doors, by tying them together, as best we could and managed to get the wardrobe to the bottom of the stairs. We then decided upon a tactical switch with me moving to the bottom of the wardrobe and Cecelia to the top, as we began our ascent.

Whilst the wardrobe was heavy and the narrow stairs giving us little room to work with, a combination of strength and dexterity, saw us manage to get the wardrobe up the stairs and turn it around so that it would fit alongside another unit in one of the bedrooms and still allow the door to be shut.

Mr L seemed delighted with our efforts and was sure that the carers would be very happy when they arrived later!

A great mission to be involved with! 😎
