One Goodgymmer joined friends of Parkwood springs for the monthly gardening session. We weeded - removing creeping butter cups, wood avens and couch grass - pruned gooseberry bushes and planted strawberries. The sun even made an appearance and we admired the buzzards flying overhead. Next session will be on 28/2. We’re already thinking what other plants we’d like to grow! If anyone has any spare rhubarb plants - this being Yorkshire after all!- or globe artichokes, please get in touch !

Our country park in the city

Parkwood Springs is an amazing natural 'wild' space close to the centre of the city of Sheffield. There is woodland and heath, open parkland, and a range of natural habitats where wild lupins bloom, kestrels hover, and deer have been seen again. There are spectacular views over the city centre, the suburbs and the distant moors of the Peak District.

the beds will provide a spectacular show of colourful wild flowers along one whole side of the lake in this very popular park. Te flowers also provide habitat for numerous pollinators
