Having cut the grass for Mr M last week, Richard and I returned to visit him this afternoon to make a start on trimming his bushes, trees and brambles, to provide safer access and let more light into his home.

A huge advantage of Mr M’s garden is that there is plenty of shade, so despite another warm and sunny afternoon, we could stay relatively cool and Mr M could come out to chat to us during the tea and bakewell slices break, and not burn the top of his head!

Having chatted about books and holidays last week, this week’s conversation included Mr M’s musical abilities on the trombone and the occasional difficulty with digital banking.

And Mr M agreed that there was nothing shady about our work in his garden today! 😂
