Steve, Kat, Helen and new Goodgymer Zoe (welcome!) returned to Alexandra Road - where we now have a community mission every month - to help keep this lovely space, well... lovely. We were greeted by Jane who suggested some tasks to do, such as raking the leaves off the lawn and doing a spot of weeding. Provided for us were gloves and tools. Then, out of Jane's bag, came boxes of melon and cookies! They do treat us well at this task.

We began raking and bagging up leaves straight away. Autumn seems to have arrived quite suddenly in Sheffield and there were plenty of leaves. They were no match for us though, and after an hour of raking and several trips to the compost heap, the grass was relatively clear. Interspersed with the raking was some cutting back of bushes and weeding of the path. Plus some chatter about football, rugby and UFC, which may or may not have caused some bickering amonst the GGers. Jane was also keen to hear about our other tasks lined up for the autumn and winter months.

All in all, a great task for an October morning. As we headed towards town for another community mission/coffee, Kat, Helen and Steve did some 'walking plogging' (wogging?). We got enough stuff in the bag that Steve struggled to fit it into a bin! A good day for good deeds.
