I arrived at Mrs Jo’s later than expected, but she was nonetheless still pleased to see me and we were soon deep in conversation about the winter and how much we were looking forward to the summer. As I was telling her about a planned trip to Bergerac in September she started to smile and was then into telling me her memories of her many trips to Paris. And one overindulge g memory was of one of her dogs. She showed me the photo and said he was Pepé the Poodle from Paris. Well, I couldn’t help but giggle, and fortunately she realised she’d created a tongue twister and was laughing too.
