Report written by Helen Alford (she/her)
Dot and I met at Mrs N's house to clear her driveway of moss, to make it safer for her. She'd already slipped on the moss once and broken her ankle and was understandably not too keen to repeat the experience. Our equipment? Two shovels and as many bin bags as we desired.
This wasn't my first-time de-mossing and so I got going with a shovel, taking up nice rolls of moss at a time - "It almost looks like turf!". Dot got the hang of de-mossing very quickly and we'd soon made a fair bit of progress. Some bits were fairly tricky to get out of the stony driveway so we resorted to hands, which wasn't very pleasant as there were a few slimy mushrooms around too. Yuck.
We managed to clear the driveway quite quickly, bagged up all but the fiddliest bits of moss, returned tools, and went about our day. Hopefully Mrs N won't need to worry anymore!
