Today, Lucy and I were back stocking the Community Fridge in Exeter Library, part of the food rescue project.

Lucy ran to the co-op and I ran to Waitrose, collecting nearly 30kgs of food between us that would have usually been thrown away.

We do this every Saturday morning, so please do sign up! From next week we'll also be collecting from a 2nd co-op in town

Exeter Community Fridge
We rescue surplus food from supermarkets across the city and give it away to all via a publicly accessible fridge in Exeter Library in order to reduce food waste.

As above. We need volunteers to pick up surplus food from designated businesses and drop it off at the Community Fridge. Quantities of food can vary but we will aim to match individual volunteers to particular pick-ups. Pick-ups are usually in the morning and the fridge is open during library opening hours. We are primarily a sustainability initiative.
