Thank You

Tonight's Run Report is a little different as this week's task was lead by John who kindly stepped in while I was away. A huge thank you John for holding the fort. A huge thanks also goes to Chris and Nigel who kindly filled the role of Back-Markers throughout the task and to Alex who provided tonight's pun! Also, huge thanks to the lovely Karen who unbeknown to her, has written the bulk of tonight's run report! Karen messaged me saying she'd made a mistake and could I take it off - to which I of course I agreed - but that was before I read it. I think Karen's words summarise the evening far better than I ever could, so Karen, thank you for a wonderful account of the evening.

The Task

Tonight the group was back with our friends at The Lighthouse Centre. We always have a great night helping out with the amazing work that they do there to help the homeless. Tonight was no exception with everyone getting stuck in to help with sorting toiletries. Here is Karen's lovely summary of another GoodGym Crewe task:

'Lots of positive energy tonight, lots of friendships and chatting. Our task tonight was sorting donated toiletries for homeless people. Quite amazing how many of our group have a penchant for neat, lined up items and organisation! Never seen such neat and tidy storage boxes. Also amazing how generous our community is to gift all these toiletries for people they probably have never met but care about their situation so much.

Our warm welcome at the Lighthouse Centre was matched by the very generous gift of refreshments (including chocolate biscuits - and thick chocolate at that!) - so kind, and gave us all more time to chat.

Good stretching session at the end on Memorial Square which attracted the attention of locals, giving us an opportunity to promote the work of GoodGym.

John was an amazing ‘run leader’ tonight, naturally we missed the lovely Nicola, but you’ve definitely found a natural assistant in John!'

Thanks Karen for such lovely words and thank you to everyone of you for being such awesome GoodGym members and making GoodGym Crewe such a lovely, positive and uplifting place to be on a Wednesday evening.

See you all Wednesday, Love Nicola xxx
