Lydiard Park has been extremely busy during the most recent lockdown and now that people can meet in in groups of six (or two households) in outdoor spaces, it's busier than ever! This unfortunately means that there has been more littering than ever, so our job was to have a good old tidy up and make one of our most fave country parks looking spick and span again.

We met outside the park cafe, and divided into two groups.

Cath, Sam and Alexandra trudged down and around the lake to take out the trash. Meanwhile Mike, Kirsty, Hannah and Rachel proceeded to pick around the park cafe, the events field, and a big chunk of the north walks.

Some key findings:

  • Litter pick classics such as crisp packets and cigarette butts
  • A disposable BBQ
  • A super cute felt mouse - check the photo
  • A dog jacket
  • A dog toy

...and a few friendly furry faces who came to say hello to us!

As well as helping to tidy the park, this was also a really great chatty task! It was great to see some of our GoodGym buddies, catch up on how we're all doing, reminisce about how brilliant February's GG Monopoly was, and have a general natter.

Big shout out to Rachel for completing her first GoodGym Good Deed too!

It's also not long before the relaunch of one of our parkruns in Swindon at Lydiard, so we were doubly pleased to be able to support the park in the lead-up to that. Watch out soon for more information!
