Tonight, 10 members broke the ground on the beds for the allotments at The Wishing Well Project. After measuring and pegging, we were ready to get digging!

The ground was extremely hard, (so hard in fact that we broke a fork trying to to lift the turf - oops!) so it was no easy task but we all got stuck in and made good progress.

A few members undertook other tasks such as trimming branches from the tree to allow more light onto the beds and clearing some overgrown areas surrounding the tree.

The highlight of the night was welcoming Val, a local resident who noticed what we were doing and came and joined us and got stuck in - evening going back to her home to bring some extra tools for us to use! She also spent some time showing Lauren & Sophie some herbs and other plants (including some edible flowers) that were growing in some of the beds in a communal area outside The Wishing Well. It’s great to see the allotment already bringing the community together.

A really productive night spent in the company of lovely people as always. ❤️

Looking forward to next week!!
