The task today was the cut back the bushes that were overcrowding the street lighting in Maplin Park.

Mabu who is also a local ward councillor wanted to do this task for the community and alongside Jen and Samuel they did a sterling job with cutting hedge technology!

Here is the report from Mabu:-

'The overgrown hedge in Maplin park had taken over the lamp posts. The residents raised this with their local councilor who contacted the GoodGym team and aaked for assistance. The team sprung in to action with the residents support. The result is that two lamp post have been cleared from the overgrown hedge. The residents helped us with the access to their gardens and lent their garden tools very kindly.

This togetherness bringing the residents together showcases the importance of local residents taking control of their environment. The green waste will be collected by Tom Jeffery, ex Olympian, now turned Tree Surgeon. Thanks to Tom for helping with this activity.

The councillor thanked the GoodGym Volunteers who helped the local communities with a long standing problem'

Well done all.
