Report written by Tom Mutton
This week we headed back to WORSBOROUGH COMMON COMMUNITY CENTRE to do the second of three trips to the centre to help re-paint their main room which hasn't been decorated in a long time and needed a bit of sprucing up to encourage more local people to attend events there.
After a brief warm up including some vigorous paired arm locomotion to get the local Barnsley crew to know the Sheffield visitors a little better we set off on the 1.6km run to meet our task owner Vera who had kindly got everything set up and ready, including some water for our thirsty lot who earned their drink climbing the long hill to the centre.
After Vera told us all what the criac was we got straight to work with Josh dolling out the tape and Steve dolling out the jokes!
MASKING MASTER JOSH had some impressive prep for the group with MARVELOUS MAIREAD taking care of some excellent 'cutting in'.
Everyone mucked in together, working really well in small teams.
Sarah, do you want to be the high to my low?

During our painting time the group made great progress, painting over the cracks and taking things to the edge with both paint and clean conversation...
It's not the size of the brush, it's the way you brush...

As time closed in, progress had definitely been made and we came that much closer to the finishing line!
After a brief clear up, wash of brushes and wrapping in cling film (tricks of the trade), we took advantage of having dust sheets and carpets and had an ABSolutley fabulous ABS session which included:
On leaving, we said thanks and see you next week to Vera and she said the same and we headed outside for a brief history lesson and photo on the Barnsley phenomenom that is KES!
Once back at base we stretched off and said our goodbyes until next week when EGGCELLENT EGG will return from her snow filled trip.
Thanks to all for welcoming Sheffield runners and trainer to Barnsley and similar to the Terminator...
We'll be back
Happy Running
Tom :)
