Great to be running back to Wexham Park Hospital for one of our longest run out. It had been a while since we had been there – clearly we were all too fit and healthy for a hospital trip!

The task tonight was to clear the outside grounds of any litter. So after the task and safety brief (so perfectly carried out by Run Leader Sut Yee, we did our danced based warm up then headed out on the long run.

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

Bear with me on this one!

So when I woke up this morning I thought it was still Sunday so I jumped out of bed thinking I was late to set up for junior parkrun…then I realised it was Monday and had a whole extra 5 minutes in bed – Every cloud

At 8am I got the kids in the car and almost turned right out of my driveway…for the past month road works have made our school journey 20 minutes longer…so this morning instead of turning right and spending the extra 20 minutes, I turned left and got to school in 8 minutes – no road works! – Every cloud

Still with me?

My Monday Goodgym prep was all done by 2pm…email sent to task owner reminding him of our visit that evening, task sheet printed, welcome brief prepared. When we arrived at the task location and went to access the office using the code I had been given…the code didn’t work. All the kit we needed to do our task was in the office but unfortunately our names weren’t on the list so we weren’t getting in..

Oh well…these things happen

A quick call to the task owner to see if he could help us, but alas no joy….so we let Run Leader Ricky make the call on what we should do

Run back says Ricky

BUT as Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining…we did something we don’t normally get time to do on this task…a Fitness Session!

Do you see where I was going with this?

So a bit of coupling up and paarlauf running alongside the newly built ER building went down a treat…just what we all needed before running 4km back! Open up those lungs...

We had a great run tonight despite not being able to do a task. Was great to have Ruth join us again on her second group run with us. And thank you Ricky, Sandy and Sut for back marking.

Next week we will be helping Slough Museum for the first time with a packing task. See you then! https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/help-slough-museum-move-items
