A beautifully mild morning to go wild in Eton Wick; Sophie, Sheila and Lili met with Claire, Andrew and Tom from Wild Eton & Eton Wick outside St John the Baptist Church. We were briefed on the task which was assessing the hedgerow in chunks of 18m, noting down various facts on our clipboards and taking photos of insects along the way. A real lesson in all things nature!

We used different apps such as what 3 words to help us note down exact locations of things we spotted, as well as Google Lens, i-naturist and picture this to help us identify names of hedges, trees and plants.

The purpose of the data research was so the team at Wild Eton can keep a track of how the biodiversity is changing and identify areas where new seed can be planted.

In true GoodGym style we also did some litter picking along the way! A very enjoyable morning with the birds tweeting, horses trotting past and gorgeous wild flowers to observe.
