Goodgym Barnet and members of the local community came together to do a little pick at the new baby Tiny Forest at Mutton Brook (Henlys corner.) We gathered for an initial chat about the future schedule of events set up by earthwatch. We will be monitoring carbon capture, water levels, habitats and biodiversity. The results will be collated and analysed through the Tiny Forest national web platform. It is hoped that we can engage more conversations around the positive effects of such woodland planting in an urban environment.

Do look up!

Our litter pick was fruitful with some particularly interesting examples. The highlight being a rubber tire which provided the pun headline and a play thing for Gus!

thanks for engaging in this community project and helping to improve our environment.

you did good!

Daniel wrote Thank you to everyone who came to the litter pick today! Great turnout! We found tires, traffic cones and tennis rackets! And collected 17 bags of rubbish for the Great British Spring Clean! The TF is coming along nicely.. some trees have started to sprout leaves! It has got a bit dry lately but all is looking well. Keep your eyes peeled for another event next month, around biodiversity! As always, if you have any ideas about events we can organise around the Tiny Forest, do let us know.
