Today I met up with Bella for a mission to help Mr D in Islington. Mr D is housebound, and needed some help in collecting a food parcel from the local foodbank.

After greeting Bella at the foodbank, we chatted about food for a few minutes while waiting for the foodbank to open (I have a long list of dessert places to visit 😁).

There was a slight hiccup after the foodbank opened, as Mr D had not been given a physical voucher for collecting his parcel. However, after we made a couple of phonecalls to Mr D to clarify the exact spelling of his surname, the helpful volunteers were able to retrieve both his voucher and his collection for us 😊

A previous GoodGym runner had estimated the total food at around 45kg. I would not disagree with this assessment! Luckily, Mr D was only a 10 minute or so walk away, so we only sweated a small bucketful as we made our way to his. Mr D and his partner were both very grateful for our efforts :)

Having worked up an appetite, Bella and I beat a hasty retreat to Pophams, as I took the opportunity to cross the bakery off my dessert list 😋

It was fun working with you, Bella. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
