With a hospital bed coming to allow Mr B's discharge from hospital, he and his partner needed to do a bed shuffle. Their king sized bed needed to move from the bedroom to the room next door. That was a king sized problem to solve as both rooms and doors were on the same side of a narrow corridor, so there was a tight bend to steer the bed around.

A few smaller moves needed to happen first. The heavy mattress was flexed through the 2 door frames and propped up against a huge bookcase, then a table want the other way to make space. Now it was time to move the bed frame, which would take some trial and error. Mr B's partner found some small screwdrivers for Kash and Sevan to remove the head of the bed and it had some really long screws. There was a lot of wiggling needed to separate the wooden pieces, but eventually they were free and it was time to see if the rest of the frame could squeeze through to the second room as it was.

The beheaded frame did make it through and the head followed soon after. All that was needed was to reunite the 2 parts. That meant more wiggling, pushing and a bit of hammering to get the screw holes to line up again. The small screwdrivers and the long screws made putting it back together a tough ask. Kash and Sevan struggled for more than 20 minutes and the screw heads were still sticking out by a lot. Then, Sevan remembered some ancient, secret wisdom passed down to him by his dad and after that, the screws slid in like a hot knife through butter. Kudos to papa Sevan.

Mr B's partner was amazed that the pair had solved the sticky problem with their bare hands. She'd had a go with a screwdriver too and hadn't gotten any further than the GoodGymers had earlier. Kash and Sevan moved the mattress and flopped it back down on the bed, leaving Mr B's partner with plenty of bedtime reading to keep her busy and space for the new hospital bed for her husband.
