10 intrepid Islington Goodgymmers spent their Bank Holiday evening digging, shoveling and wheelbarrowing gravel for a new tree lined path for the Friends if Caledonian Park.

Warm warm evening to top off a hot and sticky weekend! A few of our group ran the monthly Goodgym long run this Sunday- a Tour of Docklands. You can read the report here- and you can sign up to next month's South London run, based by GG Lambeth here.

Welcome to Catherine and Eilidh on their first run with us, and congrats to Andrea for completing 10 Goodgym tasks, and for signing up to regular coach visits.

We all met up at The Arc Centre tonight (our alternative start location, and a very interesting community centre in the heart of Islington- we are due to return for tasks soon, watch this space). From here, we ran over to a local park for an attempt at a warm-up game! If anyone has any suggestions for good warm-up games, I would live to hear them- comment below, or send me a message!

Jogging along Upper Street, and past Thornhill Gardens, we met up with Miriam, Cally Park's main volunteer coordinator and grabbed wheelbarrows, tools and gloves. Our team made a great effort in shifting tonnes of gravel along a new section of parkland, covering loads of ground between the beautiful 19th Century clock tower, and a twisty tree lined pathway. Steve Lee's wheelbarrow couldn't take the strain, deciding to fall apart halfway through! Really excellent work done tonight, folks. Lots of progress made for the Community Gardens.

Come and join us again next week (back at Emirates Stadium) for a lovely gardening task with the Single Homeless Project. Sign up here. Have an awesome week!
