E-I-E-I-O!!!

14 awesome runners helped out with some mucky tasks at Freightliners Farm last night (including two newbies, Sam and Grace- Welcome, and thanks for getting stuck in!)

"Please wash your hands, because you have definitely been in contact with some poo..."

We started out with a warm up on the Emirates Hub hill (after finding out that Pavlova/Eton Mess and Sticky Toffee Pudding are the top desserts for our GG Islington crew). Regular dynamic leg routine mixed in with some co-ordination exercises- hop scotch drills, and a few core strength tests!

We jogged across the road to Freightliners Farm (part of Paradise Park) in time to be fitted with steel cap wellies and hardy gloves. Our group was then seperated into a few task forces- Group 1 were taken to a haystack, and asked to manoeuvre lots of bags down to ground level. Group 2 were in charge of manning wheel barrows to take these bags down some twisty pathways to an allotment on the opposite of the farm, lit by the portable lights and head torches we provided. Group 3 took it in turns to unload the bags into the snail infested allotment area.

Fantastic effort from everyone, and a really lovely task. Happy to say that we were able to completely demolish this within the short time we were allocated. We really made a difference for this great local community group.
