Friday 31st January
Report written by Laura Cheek
2 Goodgym Luton walkers headed out today to survey 10kms of footpath for SlowWays. Following LutHar3 out of Luton, we spotted uneven pavements and difficult crossings before getting out into nature for the trip down to Harpenden. The greenway offered beautiful views and plenty of wildlife to spot, but sadly there were plenty of littered areas to spot as well - possible future GG tasks perhaps? Due to the recent weather, the path was muddy and a bit slippery in places, all which will be entered into the SlowWays survey for the route. We made our way into Harpenden, stopping to measure some narrow pavements and after a couple of photos of the local history display, it was time to decide on whether to take the train back to the start. But we are GG'ers, and it is January- so despite the drizzle we walked all the way back again - over 20kms achieved!
