We returned to St Lawrence Park - a firm Urban Green favourite - to add two new raised beds to the area that we've worked on previously.

As Andrew said, it's amazing to look around this park and see everything that GoodGym have done on their 6-weekly visits with Urban Green. Cleared tree lines, a perfect path and now 3 lovely raised beds!

Work was started straight away assembling the raised beds, which had been partially put together by Mike, but needed that extra GoodGym muscle to finish up.

As Ross and I arrived (MOTs take longer than I thought...) Mike, Andrew, Miranda, Aimee and Lauren were already hard at work finishing up the second new bed and were about to mark out the plot for the first new bed. We quickly got on helping them out, and Miranda, Andrew, Lauren and I began to dig the holes for the first bed while Ross and Aimee finished up the second.

Digging those holes was pretty hard work, and as always, Mike showed us how it's done and gvie us a proper lesson on the names of all the tools (though Aimee was still happy to call the pyke/digging bar the 'big pole' and wield it for the rest of the morning!)

After the compulsory tea break (this time with donuts that Andrew has carried all the way from parkrun), we put in place the first new bed and finished up the second, ending up down to the wire (12 o'clock) and setting the second in place just as Ross and I had to head off as I was tutoring my cousin in trigonometry (so much FUN for one morning).

I'm looking forward to visiting the part again in 6 weeks and seeing what else we can help with. For this week though, we've got City Stadium tomorrow, Newcastle Eagles on Monday and FoodCycle on Thursday. All great opportunities to do good!
