We all had a weedy good time

Bath Report written by Helen Conner (she/her)

7 goodymers jogged or walked to the secret garden/cementry looked after by the Bath Preservation Trust in Widcombe. Up a short alley and hidden behind giant gates lies the land that time forgot.

Overgrown with nettles and bind weed, the team began to clear huge sections of the garden to reveal the ancient wall markings indicating where burials lie.

The team did a fantastic job and in no time the area looked so much better!

Fingers crossed for not too much sunshine and showers as the weeds will return with a vengence

“The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.” ― Albert Einstein

Bath Report written by Kate

Five GoodGymers braved a wet and miserable Tuesday evening to assist Newbridge Primary School with the dismantling of their library.

Removing a library I hear you cry! How will the children broaden their minds? Never fear! We diligently moved the books from their neat little shelves, down a long corridor to their temporary piles on tiny tables (that had corresponding tiny chairs)! Using various trollies to aid us; our inner child may have come out as there was a sneaky little race with the empty trollies down the corridor by two of our members. I’d say it was a draw.

The overall idea of the move is for the school to make the corridor into their library space (as they don’t have a lot…space that is). The old library/computer room will be repurposed into their music room. Unfortunately their current one has a leaking ceiling!

Ever efficient, we managed to move all the books waiting for us in half an hour enabling us to skip out early, after offering our further assistance, of course.

Good work team!

Newbridge Primary Library

The help will mean that the parent who is constructing the new library, will be able to work from May-Sept in his spare time to get the library ready for the start of next academic year.
