Adam went off on a litter pick whilst Jen, Caroline, Mick and Louis grabbed a rake or pitchfork and joined the BBOWT and Friends of The Millie volunteers to rake up the reeds and nettles that had been cut down by a team who had attended earlier in the week.

Jen, Louis and Roberta met with Shoshan our task leader for a briefing. We were joined by her two beautiful dogs, Lily and the younger, more boisterous Simba.

Our task today was a quick tour of the two new developing Fernery areas before bundling up previously collected twigs, sticks and branches into broomstick type arrangements.

We were soon joined by Sheila which meant that we could demonstrate that many hands do make light work.

A last job before we finished was watering the planters and bedding plants, so with the hosepipe ban still in place it was buckets to the rescue.

We had an impressive pile of broomsticks by the end.

11 GoodGymers met at the Community Centre to continue the good work of tacking crocheted poppies to a 3 metre net panel. This panel will be part of the 21 metre memorial piece that Craft Coop is putting together for Remembrance Day.

So what is this Le Coquelicot Tapestry, you ask? Well, it's French for The Poppy Tapestry, inspired both by the topical Bayeux and our resident French GG-er, Anne-Laure. Sol jokingly suggested we should charge £2 for people to see this Poppy Tapestry and we thought it'll be more appealing if it sounded French. Enter, Anne-Laure and may we present, Le Coquelicot Tapestry. Voilà! :poppy:
