Belinda, AJ and I (Julia) joined the Borough Food Cooperative on a sunny Monday lunch time to help out with stock preparations for the next shop. We unloaded crates of fruit and veg, playing tetris on the shelves and in the fridges as we sorted through the generous volume of donations. There was a buzz in the air as we worked alongside the regular volunteers, getting the shop in good shape.

Last night a group of volunteers joined a team helping to raise money for the Syrian/turkey earthquake appeal. It was a very hands on experience and we worked hard to help get us much raised as possible. It may have been hard work but when our Syrian chef for the evening gave a talk about how people, especially the women, have been affected, it was all worthwhile. Well done everybody 🙌🏽

On Sunday afternoon, five GoodGymers including newbie Sevasti attended a GROAD session at St Faith's Community Centre to help sort out donations. The main focus of today was to start packing donated toys for local kids in local schools. This ensures the toys have a second or third life.
Other tasks of the hour included setting up the Open House for the refugee families and to get all the items ready for the Rough Sleepers project on Monday and Tuesday night.
Lastly, the team helped sort out hangers by type and take in any new donations.
Kudos to everyone who came for the power hour of good! 👍
