Tuesday 14th July

Jerry Carey has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Jerry is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

I'd normally expect a group to cancel on me if they told me they ran a 50km trail race the day before, but the people from The Running Charity are clearly anything but normal. I took this group of super runners for a nice and easy 1.2km run to the Thames near the OXO Tower for a easy litter pick. I gave out gloves and bin bags then split everyone into groups of two. Some where litter picking at the park outside OXO Tower and the rest where litter picking at Thames beach.
This group is fitter then your average GoodGymer which meant they managed to clear their respective areas in no time. Once we took our group picture and disposed of the rubbish, all we had left was a 1.2km run back to the start point but the team had other plans. Despite recovering from a 50km trail run, they still wanted to get a longer run in so we ended up doing 5km, making the total millage for this task 6.2km.
The faster guys in the group still had energy and decided to do an intense round of jumping lunges. I couldn't believe my eyes, I need there level of fitness for my next race. From there we done our cool down then parted ways. The Running Charity are a amazing group, hopefully we can run together again sometime soon.
