Newtown Community Association's second Wildflower Garden for the Bees

To clear part of the wasteland where Clifton Rd and Clifton St. meet, to create a wildflower garden for the bees.
The Project is to create a bee and butterfly friendly sanctuary ,where pollenating insects and other wild life can find a safe haven where bee friendly wildflowers are grown. An area that will give pleasure and some exercise to the residents of Newtown.

2 GoodGymers have supported Newtown Community Association's second Wildflower Garden for the Bees with 1 task.

There's no better way to spend a Sunday than a couple of hours of hard graft!

The mission today for us was to remove a large patch of grass, preparing a community area for Wildflower planting. Despite the cold and a bit of rain we absolutely smashed the task, it was proper muddy gardening but a great way to keep fit and blow the cobwebs off.

We were joined by Judith and Margaret from the community project, and between the 4 of us we made a huge start in the rejuvenation of the area. Just check out the before and after pictures!

Our next task is on Tuesday evening, helping with stock/donations at the British Heart Foundation. Sign up here
