Firstly a big welcome to Rachel for her first run with Goodgym after we had been on her radar for a while!
The effort was high as usual and the task of cleaning the foodbank was tackled vigorously. The warm up on run down was much needed as we destroyed the dirt and grime armed with brushes, mops and sanitiser!
A big thanks to Bob for buying the floor cleaner and everyone who has donated equipment to the foodbank! You lot are ace!
We took some photos after the task and then sprinted up the hill - sprint and recover!!!! Gooooooooo.
Effort was adjudged between 7 and 14 out of 10?!?! You what!!?
See you next week or at the community mission on Saturday which will be a lot of fun: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/blues-and-rock-in-the-garden-fundraising-event

Community 360 are bringing together many organisations to showcase Colchester's volunteer network.
We may have some promo material by then or may not as Saucony take over the reigns from New Balance. We do have a banner though bit mainly just your knowledge and passion for Goodgym in Colchester is needed!
Wow, Tiffany has completed a 12 month mission streak. That means they've cleared gardens, moved furniture and changed light bulbs in spring, summer, autumn and even winter. Show your support and give them a massive cheer!
Looking for details about St Helena's Pier to Pier walks this weekend? We're all out of leaflets.
On this pleasant warm evening our diminished but enthusiastic team met at St Helena hospice to spread the word about the upcoming event with a last minute leaflet drop. We did better than initially anticipated, clearing a sizeable pile of flyers in the highwoods area, avoiding any dogs snapping our fingertips (although Tiffany did briefly confuse us with some cat noises), and heading home before the sun set. Hope some late signups can attend on Sunday, with plenty of local events in the coming months too.

Please note that this group run has been cancelled.
The big new warehouse needs a clean! T-shirts on, marigolds at the ready and let’s get busy.
Just a reminder to always check where we are meeting. For this task for example we are meeting at the Foodbank. The Foodbank will be the only task we do that is indoors due to surge in COVID rates. And for that reason I want to minimise time in which we may be close to one another. Safety first! Goodgym wants to encourage exercise and traveling in an eco friendly way but it also wants to remain helpful to the community and to our members.
Tim Young will be Mayor of Colchester come May and he has chosen some charities to support to celebrate diversity including Outhouse East, African Families UK and Colchester Pride. It is our pleasure and privilege to support the events as volunteers on the weekend of 18th and 19th June.
