WE HAD A LAVENDER TIME AT THE OLD ENGLISH GARDENS πΈ
Tonight we had an awesome bunch goodgymers assemble outside Crooklog for our gardens task. Nicky and Tom were waiting for us so it was time to get warmed up and head on down. Nick led the walking group whilst Susan warmed up the runners and got them on their way. Thanks Caz for looking after the back runners.
On arrival at the gardens it was all about the Lavender, it was the best smelling task i've been on for a long time, our mission was to cut these back for another year.
I'd like to give a massive shout out to Julian who joined us from Greenwich this evening, we hope you enjoyed our company and welcome back to Sharine, haven't seen you at GG for a long time ππ»π
After a thorough pruning it was time to get the crew back to Bexley HQ. Well done on another task well done, you guys rock.

A-lot-meant we got the job done
Our group task this week was to help our friends from Bexley Mencap at their allotment.
Working alongside Matt, Liam and Duncan we weeded, cut back thistles and watered. There was time to admire the veg and fruit growing in the plot π π₯π§ πΆππ₯ and we even met the resident frog πΈ.
Bexley Mencap's allotment belongs to Bexley Learning Enterprise Council and we also helped with communal tasks - clearing pathways, shared areas, borders and verges - for the benefit of all the supported learning plot-holders.
As the sun set the mosquitoes came out so we speedily packed away the tools and posed for a quick team photo.
Just before we headed home Liam thanked us with some Lindor chocolate treats π¬.
It was fun evening and a big thank you to Bexley Mencap for having us.

SORTING OUT AN ALLOTMENT WITH BEXLEY MENCAP ππ»π

Yeah πͺπ» Weβre teaming up with our fellow GGβers and Bexley MenCap friends to help out at their allotment. Thereβs definitely plenty to be getting on with at this new location.
Guys you can meet up at the task for 19.30 (walk or cycle) or meet at Crooklog for 19.00 for a group run to the location.
See ya thereβ¦β¦β¦..

WEEDS, LITTER, CHICKEN DINNER ππ»π
What a fab good deed it was last night with our new friends at the United Reform Church, Bexleyheath. Our task was to sort out the flower beds, pick a ton of weeds, and give the area a Bexley Goodgym make over, and thats exactly what we did.
Well whats the chicken diner all about i hear you ask? Well it shows that giving back to our awesome community really pays forward as the awesome team from Bexleyheath Nandos appreciated our hard work and invited us all in for a free chicken meal once we had finsihed our task, so thanks you so much to the team there, you were all awesome and the food was absolutely delicious.
See you next week everyone ππ»

GEDDES PLACE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH GARDEN TIDY UP π

New location for us so letβs show what we can do team.
The task involves a tidy up and weeding of a very small garden. A sweep up of their private car park and weβll as a full on weed picking workout.
You can make your own way there by bike, power walk or run. If you fancy running with other Bexley Goodgymers to and from the location we will be meeting up at Crooklog sports centre for 19.00 sharp and arriving back after the task for around 20.30ish πββοΈπββοΈ
It would be great to see you all there.

Nick completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Nick was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Nick is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

GETTING OUR KICKS AT WELLING FOOTBALL CLUB β½οΈ
Fab turnout for last nights mission. We played a blinder, pushing forward covering all the field before pulling the trigger (on the weed killer) for an awesome result............
A big shout out must go to the sweepers who also done a brilliant job along the terraces. Well done team.
