GoodGym were asked to get involved with Nancy Whiskin and her team at Barts Volunteers at the start of the year.
Over the past few weeks, GoodGym members have enjoyed a variety of tasks, both within the hospital environment and at the Vaccination Centre at Newham's ExCel.
Activity may include taking staff meals from the canteen up to the outside of the wards; manning the (glass-fronted) visitors' desk; running patient belongings left by friends and relatives up to the wards; overseeing the rollout of the new staff wellbeing centres...
There are many roles which will include high levels of physical activity for GoodGymers.

Health and safety
There are stringent processes in place at all of the Trust's venues to keep volunteers safe.
You will not be in contact with any patients or visiting any wards.
You will be taken through a full risk assessment at your first visit.
10 Amazing GoodGymers ran 6k to spread the Easter love to the homeless community of Westminster by donating and handing out 100 hot cross buns, hands of bananas, Easter eggs, cereal bars and water.
First job of the day was to bag up all the super generous Easter treats ready to be handed out on our Westminster homeless loop.
With so many super generous donations ready to go we headed out ready to bring some Easter cheer.
Running through Homeless hot spots in Mayfair, Victoria, Charing Cross, Piccadilly and Oxford Circus we managed to give out pretty much all of our treats!! A few left overs brought a smile to a few in Vauxhall station on my way home.

See you next week for our visit to St Andrews youth club!
Meeting at the New Balance shop where we will get our Easter donations ready to be given out to the local homeless community.
Weather you fancy bringing along an Easter treat (chocolate eggs, hot cross buns, mini eggs etc) or something more practical like toiletries or socks it would be great to have you along to this very special Group Run.
Once we get are bag of goodies ready we will head out on a 5-8k loop around Westminster to hand deliver Easter treats to our most vulnerable residents. A great chance to spread the love and sometimes have a chat while to get a load of steps and running in around some of the Countries most well know landmarks.
The session is amazing and uplifting when we have done it at various celebrations throughout the year but only works with your amazing effort and generosity.
Sign up and see you Wednesday!
