This week we're back at the lovely Granard Primary School to complete the tasks that were cancelled a few weeks ago. There's lots to done thanks to a grant the school has recently received, so get your head torches, gloves and biceps ready to really make a difference at this great school. We will be spreading bark chippings, digging and clearing. If you wonder what our work means to the school, check out page 4 of their newsletter:
We'll be taking public transport together part of the way back, so bring along your oyster card.
It's a bit of a longish run to the school, but don't worry, we always have a back marker so nobody is ever left behind.
There are some massive doors at the Omnibus theatre - where the Wandsworth group have been before to do a good old spring clean - and they need a good lick of paint. We're the team for the job, so let's get our brushes out.
We meet at the Battersea Arts Centre as usual - Monday at 6:30 - then after a quick warm up and welcome we'll run up to the theatre in Clapham. After we've done our task, we'll hop over to the common for a fitness session that'll leave you sweaty but happy.
We'll cover about 5 k in total, but don't worry, we have backmarkers so no one is ever left behind.
See you on Monday for some painting and planking!
We have a great charity to help out this week - the Work and Play Scrapstore reuses materials for environmental, community and artistic benefit. They supply donated clean and re-useable surplus/waste materials otherwise destined for incineration, landfill or long-term storage to a wide range of groups such as schools, charities, community groups, arts organisations, students and families. But they need our help!
Join us for a slightly longer run down to Tooting where we'll be painting, carrying, and tidying in groups of 3-5 to do at a time. There will be the option of taking public transport for at least part of the way back, so bring your oyster cards and we'll see which team gets back to the doors of the BAC first! This is a great session that will leave you feeling fit and sweaty!
As always, there are backmarkers so no one gets left behind. If you're concerned about the run then drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Katherine Low Settlement is an amazing charity in Wandsworth which helps out families facing poverty and build stronger communities.
We are going to help out the Wandsworth Welcome Refugees section of the charity by running down piles of washing from a children's' summer camp to the local laundry. We'll leave it there and do a fitness session before picking it up again and dropping it back at the centre.
This is not too long a run so we'll do a nice tasty fitness session - but as always, there are back markers so no one will ever get left behind!
We will be leaving promptly for this one because we've got lots to do, so see you all at 6:30 :)
Luca is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.
We'll be running down to the Wendelsworth community gardens to do some gardening on the grounds there. It'll be the third time the Wandsworth group has visited the garden so we can really see the difference we're making.
It's BULB TIME! We've got bags and bags of them to plant so it's going to be a heck of a workout. This is a much loved and used community space so let's plant now to reap the rewards in Spring!
It will be around a 5 mile run in total, but don't worry, there will be options and we always have a back marker, so no one will ever get left behind.
