THIS HAS NOW BEEN MOVED TO THE SATURDAY AFTER. Please remove yourself from the register if you are not able to attend the 15th May.
We are helping Codified Orchestra via Creative Kids this Saturday morning. They have ust moved in and need some big units moving and some large boards to help them have a larger storage unit.
We will meet outside the main entrance to the Sovereign Center on the pedestrian section of the high street. Not sure how long it will all take, but you are free to come and stay as long as you can or leave when you need to.
Ideally, we'd like around 10 of us and we'll work in separate groups to allow for social distancing. I am going to cap the session to 12 to make sure we don't have people standing around. Bring some gloves and a mask please.
Janet has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.
On a glorious evening in Bournemouth we gathered in Meyrick Park amongst the outdoor enthusiasts. And for once no one flinched at seeing us get together. There were people playing rugby, mum’s doing an exercise class, some practicing boxing others tai chi and us collecting rubbish and making the world a better place.
We had a chat and went through names and welcomed fresh faces in Lottie and Adam. Lottie in her first ever GoodgGym experience and Adam who had had a taste before and hasn’t been put off!
With gloves, pickers and bin bags handed out we bursted our like a star in different directions and gathered as much rubbish as we could.
After an hour of picking and chatting we got together again and made a date for next week Thursday....Horseshoe Common our next challenge!
Great to see you all. Hope you can make it again next week!!
We are meeting at the rugby clubhouse for a litter pick of the park. Please bring some gloves, a bin bag and a litter picker if you have any of those items!
We will split into multiple groups and collect as much rubbish as we can!
Hope you can make it, if not, not to worry as we'll be back out next week!
What a way to start a Sunday morning!!
13 of us in total got together with Michael and Jono from Grounded Community to help them make some progress in the Secret Garden 2 plot.
In glorious sunshine we split off into different teams. One team headed off and started to flatten a plot and prepare the are for the installation of a polytunnel. Lots of shoveling and removing a top layer to allow for it to be evened out and then the posts to be put into place.
Another team on the other side had to dismantle three raised flower beds to make room for a row of composter bins made up of discarded pallets...
Another team also tidied up a corner of rotting wood and moved it outside the plot to free up some space.
With 2 hours to play with we had lots of time and the chance to really make some serious progress, compared to when we could only stay for 40mins on groups runs!
As you'll see from the amazing photos we had a lot of fun and managed to so a lot of good!! And we still had the whole weekend ahead of too!!
We're out again this week, this time Thursday evening for a litter pick at Meyrick Park!
Come and join us!!
Michael needs a hand at both Secret Gardens and we love doing good so it will be a match made in......Boscombe!
Please bring your gardening gloves along and please please wear something you don't mind getting dirty.
We'll be doing some gardening on one site and sorting through bits on the other site. So, lots of being outdoors and getting our hands dirty....unless you have gloves of course.
It's a double session so feel free to stay for both hours or only for one of them.
Janet just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Janet a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.
