Spotting rocks, sticks and wood in the middle paddock
Five GoodGymers visited Windmill Hill City farm this chilly Wednesday morning.
We all took part in finding rocks, sticks and wood in the middle paddock and removing these items in order to make the environment safe for animals.
It was lovely seeing the animals this morning and also nice to be outside and chatting to fellow volunteers whilst doing good in the commuity. Well done everyone :)

Sorting out bikes and litter picking at Hannah More Primary School
Five Good Gymers met on a chilly Tuesday evening at Hannah More Primary school.
Three of us sorted out the bikes that are used for the childrenβs after school club. We determined which ones required minor maintenance, pumped up the tyres and fixed the chains. We then identified which ones were no longer useable- these will be recycled and replaced.
The remaining two Good Gymers helped out with litter picking around the front and back of the school.
It was lovely seeing everyone, we were even rewarded with amazing homemade flapjacks :)

Spacing things up
On this lovely Friday morning, 6 GoodGym runners returned to the farm to help with getting a paddock ready for the sheep to return. After a quick assessment of which tools might work best to break up the lumps of compost/manure and spread them evenly across the pasture, some opted for rakes and others of shovels. Despite some warming rays of sun breaking through the clouds, the ground was still a bit frosty and the air surprisingly cold. Swift raking and shoveling warmed us up and the paddock looked fabulous when we were finished (although the untrained eye might have thought the opposite was true as the green was now covered in sh*t) .
Big shout out to Danielle, who completed her first ever good deed with this task. She was, of course, rewarded with some goat cuddles.
Great job everyone!

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, weeding, sweeping, petting goats (optional), loading and maneuvering wheelbarrows (bring your own gardening gloves if you have them, they are very useful to have for this task and any other tasks)
Hope to see you there :)

Friday Farm Frolics 5 Mar

Are you finding it hard to motivate yourself in the morning? Come and join us for a end of the week morning dose of goodness at Windmill Hill City Farm.
Early morning, fresh air, walking/running/cycling (or however else you travel), volunteering, animals (and people, if you like them - socially distanced of course) - what a great way to start your day!
The farm is planning to lay a new gravel path along their animal paddocks so we will scrape off the old surface material and prepare the paths for their make-over. Expect a decent workout for our arms and upper body ;)

Great Big Tidy at Hannah More Primary

Hannah More primary have asked us to help clear the grounds and generally tidy up for the Great Return of all the pupils.
Bring your gloves, Ruth will be there to let us know what needs doing. Thereβs loads to do and loads of space so social distancing should be easy!
