GG was back at St Christopher's, where we focused our attention to the front driveway. Leaves were swept away and the driveway was also cleared of excess tree pollen and soil. Shrubs and trees were also trimmed. We enjoyed the sunshine and look forward to coming back here to tackle the back garden.

We made great progress at the 3 Pigeons Plot. It was amazing to see how much had changed since our last visit just a month ago, with lots more plants now in flower.
We got stuck into weeding, both in the borders and the lawn, and we also did a bit of litter picking to help keep everything looking its best.
It was also great to welcome Helen to her first task with us. Her plant knowledge was much appreciated and definitely came in handy!
We'll be back at the 3P’s again on Monday to carry on with a few more jobs. Please come along and join us if you’re free!

On a lovely warm and sunny Saturday morning, 6 Goodgymers joined the Friends of Ham Lands for our monthly session of habitat improvement and preservation.
The session started with a short talk from Paul, who explained his work on monitoring insect life in the hawthorns on the Ham Lands, and how it has been a bumper year especially for caterpillars.
Our task for the day, to nobody's huge surprise, was tackling brambles - this time those hemming the edges of bushes and hawthorn trees in an area at the northern boundary. We went at them with gusto, enjoying the warmth of the sun as we built up piles of removed brambles before moving them into the undergrowth.
A warm welcome to Helen who joined for her first session!
June be a skipped month for this mission, we will be back on the Ham Lands in July, on Saturday 11th.
