Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

Helping Naomi House sort donations

The £1 sale is STILL ON! So Naomi House still need our help sorting through their donations and getting them out into the shop. If it's a cold and rainy day this is the perfect antidote - warmth, good humour and there's quite often a cup of tea too!!

Leave a positive note or message in your community

Sun 10 May 20:00 pm
Where ever you are, In your own Town, or City , In the postcode you're in
Boost spirits and spread good vibes!

This bank holiday weekend we're encouraging the GoodGym community to leave a positive message for others to find while they are out on their daily exercise.

This is a nationwide task that anyone can do!

This could be in the form of a note, like the note to strangers artist, a painted stone like these lovely ones or it could simply be leaving a post it on your neighbours garden gate.

  • Keep to social distancing at all times and only complete the task as part of daily exercise

  • This task can be done anywhere at any time over the bank holiday weekend

  • No graffiti

  • No littering

  • No permanent fixtures

  • Keep it positive!

Send a picture to liv@goodgym.org for the report and so I can add you to the register.

Festive Naomi House visit + Xmas party

Wed 18 Dec 18:15 pm
Fratton Community Centre, Trafalgar Placel, Off Clive Rd, , Portsmouth , PO1 5JJ
Join us to do good and get fit

Welcome to GoodGym Portsmouth! We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects in our area.

The Task:

This week we will be heading up to Naomi House to help sort donations, hang and size the winter stock and maybe even get to steam clean some of the clothes.

As this is our last group run of the year please feel free to dress in your best festive outfit.

The Run/walk:

GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities and it is often possible to walk to the task if you would prefer. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is. We will have a walking option tonight, they will leave promptly when the runners do their warm up.

After Party We will be stopping at the community centre after the task for a social & the 2019 awards. Please bring a plate of food to share with everyone. There's a spreadsheet so you can add what you're bringing or see what other people are bringing!

Hannah completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Hannah was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Another thing to tick off the 'bucket list'

Sat 4 May
Report written by Samantha Belfrage

Wow what a fabulous atmosphere we experience today at Fratton Park. Five GoodGym runners took their charity buckets to Fratton Park to collect money for the Tom Prince cancer trust before kick-off.

Welcome Hannah, it was great to have you supporting us today on your first community mission and GoodGym experience. We hope you had a great time. We were lucky to have two mini helpers with us today who raised lots of money with their cries of ‘any spare changeeeeee please!’ the fans could not resist popping their change into their buckets.

The fans were very generous with notes being thrown in our buckets alongside coins. We don’t have the total raised yet but we know every penny will help the charity to fund vital cancer research. Shame we didn’t get a win PUP!
