Community Cape

Emily Thorpe earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

Emily completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Emily was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

The Treasure Seekers

Chelmsford Report written by Chelmsford runner

Firstly I’d like to start off by saying a massive thank you to Laurie who has helped me an awful lot over the past few weeks to settle me into my new role as the Area Activator and I think she deserves a special mention. Everyone should go and give her some cheers, it’s very much deserved!!

Secondly a warm welcome is extended to Emily who joined us on her first community mission on her bike! I hope you enjoyed it and hope to see you again on a few more in the near future. We also welcomed back Julie and Adam, it’s been a long time since these regular members have been able to join in with a GoodGym task due to the current crisis so it was great to see them again.

This evening’s task was to clear a stretch of road of the rather large amount of rubbish that seemed to accumulate there for some reason, however I vastly underestimated just how much there was and we filled our bin bags in no time at all. Julie, Laurie and Rachel picked up all the litter around the burger van whilst Adam and Joel found a treasure trove of trash buried behind some bushes.

Everyone got stuck right in and we filled the three bin bags in about fifteen minutes. We were meant to do the whole street but barely managed to go fifty meters; we will have to return in a couple of weeks with more bags to really make a dent. It’s fair to say the area we did clear looks remarkably better than it did before our arrival. Well done everyone. Hope to see you on future tasks in the near future or at our picnic in the park on 19th September which you can sign up to here.
