Seven Goodgymmers, Caprice, Millie, Sophie, Eleanor, Janet, Keith and Lea joined Ruth inside St Augustin’s church tonight. The planned work outside wasn’t going to happen with buckets (of rain) coming down! No washing walls this time but scraping pillars… the peeling paint as well as salt crystals needed to be removed, so that the pillars will dry out better. Then they can be painted at a later stage. Lots of scraping meant lots of dust…. James to the rescue. Eh what? James could unfortunately not make it, so when Eleanor heard Lea say: “Well done James”, she got a bit confused. Turned out Lea was praising Henry’s cousin James, also in the hoovering business! Eh, right 🤔🤣! And then Caprice and James joined forces to attack more dust… Anyway, with dust collected as well as spiders webs, lots of leaves and a pine cone (?), but no mice running around this time, the church and Ruth are happily awaiting our return as there is lots more to do for the hardworking Goodgymmers group!! Thanks everyone for your hard work.

This was mission #2 in helping Sendisass4bcp distribute their flyers to schools and GPs in the local area. Daryl, Eleanor, Chloe and Caprice didn't let the rain put them off. They met at King's Park and then hit the streets. This was an epic running mission where the GoodGymers ran a total of 10K whilst weaving through the streets of Pokesdown and Southbourne. They even managed to squeeze in a mini Graffiti tour finishing on the mighty Boscombe Owl 🦉 Once all the locations had been delivered to the group ran back to King's Park.

Eleanor King (she/her) completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.
Eleanor has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

Tonight's session was to help our friends at Hope Housing. Daryl and Caprice ran to the session where they were joined by Milly, Sophie, Emma and Eleanor. With summer just around the corner it was time for their charity shop to swap from winter stock to summer collection. The group got to work sorting bags of donations, placing summer clothing into their labeled box. The group agreed it was a very satisfying task, seeing the boxes fill in no time at all. Women's tops and dresses seemed to be the most popular donation. Once all the bags were distributed between the large plastic boxes the GoodGymers said their goodbyes. Hope Housing have asked for our help with some gardening and some point so watch this space for more details!

Tonight's session was to distribute flyers on behalf of Sendisass4BCP. They had asked for our help to post flyers to specific GP's and schools in the local area. Runners; Julie, Daryl, Katie, Eleanor and Caprice met at The Brewhouse and made their way to the first of 11 locations. After successfully posting their first flyer they then made their way to location number two. They were met there by runners; Emma, Sophie and Milly who then joined them on the mission. They then ran as a group to the other locations, posting not just the Sendisass4BCP but our very own GoodGym flyers. The group weaved through the streets of Bournemouth doing a big loop and they managed 10 out of 11 locations. (they couldn't seem to find one of them) After a successful mission the group were shocked to discover that the total distance covered was 7K. Time flies when you have fun! The group still have a few more areas to cover so next week will be another flyer drop. See you there!
