Crystal Palace Parkrun

Join a few hundred runners as they traverse the paths of Crystal Palace park and maybe grab a post run coffee.
Look out for other red GoodGym t-shirts!
The course is 5k and a bit hilly but you can take it at whatever pace you fancy. Make sure you register for a barcode on the parkrun website.
📍Crystal Palace Park, at the bottom by Brown & Green's cafe
⌚️Saturday 22nd January @ 9am.
🏃♂️ Come ready to run. People often leave bags and coats near the start point but this is at your own risk.
☕️ Stick around for a beverage afterwards if you like?

Carla completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Carla was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Carla is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Santa's Sort-y List
Today's task was to help out Living Well and their food bank with checking and packing "Christmas Bags" - a more festive version of their regular packages they give to those that need them.
Members of the public were asked to provide specific things (salmon, shower gel, coffee, festive biscuits, tinned fruit...etc.) and we were there to check that everything was there.
Firstly we shifted all the bags into the church, before getting on with going through each bag and matching them with the list of food. If there was something missing, we'd grab it from the usual food bank stock, and then we'd top the bags up with mince pies and other Christmas treats!
Once they were all filled, we moved the bags back into the containers outside. A good test of brain power, speed and muscle! 🧠🏃💪
Mary from Living Well sent me this after the session:
"A big thank you to everyone who helped today with Christmas bags. If we had to do them without your help it would have taken many hours."
Great work guys! And big shout out to Carla who came along for her first GG task - A baptism of fire with a speedy session! 🎉🔥

Packing Christmas Bags with Living Well

Living Well is a fab organisation in Penge who provide a foodbank to locals. They've asked for a hand sorting out donations into 'Christmas Bags' which will last over the Christmas period.
We'll meet at Living Well at 1pm and the task may be outside so probably wear gloves and warmer clothes! We should be done within an hour.
A great opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer!
6 people would be great!!
Email me if you have any questions.
See you there!
