On a roll

Andy Mercer completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.

Andy has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

Sweeping her off her feet

Bournemouth Report written by Bournemouth runner

Today 12 of us got together to go and help a new organisation. Body Positive, a charity that is set up to help those affected and living with HIV. One of the carers there is using the offices to get married, so Samantha, the founder, asked us to come down and make their garden look amazing. It was great to have Andy join us after a while away, such a lovely surprise!

Our run there was very short, but all uphill. Just a little over 1km of a gradual climb, just not enough time for us to all get chatting and catch up on the past week's happenings! Samantha was so happy to see us and had managed to get together most of the tools they had available. The gang got stuck right in! Laura and Dan on their knees getting all the muck out from between the stones on the floor and doing an amazing job! Sarah, Daryl and Andy swept up the whole patio area and filled numerous bags. Pia and Megan were one terrace up making the flower beds look good enough for an appearance on Gardeners' World! The other half of the gang were in the front garden. Neil was scraping out weeds from between the paving stones, Heather chopping down bramble with Soren. Caprice sweeping. Everyone finished their jobs and then went to help out in other areas. In about 45 minutes time we had filled 8 bags of garden waste and left the place ready for a royal wedding!!! Amazing job team! Samantha was so grateful and impressed, and it was great to start to build another meaningful relationship in the our community! I hope you all have peaceful dreams and that the good karma finds you soon!

See you all next week!

Buttocks in Bloom

Bournemouth Report written by Bournemouth runner

Today saw us visit St Michael's Primary School, which was great as it was a first for all of us.

We also welcomed Katie who will be the GoodGym Portsmouth trainer click here and give her a shout and wish her all the best! She's lovely and we know she'll be brilliant.

**SOUTH COAST MASSIVE!

We also welcomed back Andy who has recently qualified as a Yoga instructor and we can't wait to go to one of his classes! Very exciting!

Awesome to have Beth on board with us, who turbo walked all the way from Winton to join us!!! Now that's commitment!!!

As the task was just around the corner from our meeting point we did a good warm up in the sunshine and set off straight to the school where we used their mugger to do some core bodyweight exercises.

Split into two teams of 5 the gang took it in turn to do 30 seconds worth of an exercise then swapped over. We managed 4 sets..pretty impressive!! And there were some very coordinated team plank wave going on by one team....the other team struggled to plank.....but I won't name and shame!

After the work out Lorraine and Emily who are in charge of the garden and with it the entry into Bournemouth in Bloom competition this year provided us with tools and instruction on what needed doing. The gang didn't miss a beat and got straight to it. Digging up the old flower bed and tiding away last years decorations. The garden will be a sensory garden and the children will be tasked with using their imagination to provide as many sensory experiences as possible.

Last year they won the silver prize...hopefully with our help, this year they may hit gold!

It was a very rewarding task as working in a garden usually is....until you get bitten by little evil flies!!! But the team got a lot done and it looked amazing afterwards. Emily and Lorraine were very grateful.

Next week we are back to finish what we started as well as doing the vegetable patch and getting it ready for planting!

Come along and help out!!

Well done everyone....Neil you have to come along....as we'll be celebrating your 50th good deed!!!!
