Double Dealing with Dumped Debris

Lewisham Report written by Paul B (he, him, me duck)

The usual Lewisham plogging double act of Adi and Paul picking up litter over the weekend. Adi dealt with the aftermath of squirrels feeding on the contents of rubbish bins in Sydenham's Mayow Park. Paul had the cans and bottles of Deptford's Brookmill Park's drinkers thrown into brambles to deal with in heavy rain.

Deposits in the Wrong Place

Lewisham Report written by Paul B (he, him, me duck)

The usual duo of Adi and Paul were out litter picking in Lewisham, Adi felt the chill winds from the north in Sydenham's Mayow Park. Paul was clearing up rubbish from by the side of the Ravensbourne in Deptford's Brookmill Park. Apart from a dumped chair in some brambles (reported through Love Clean Streets), it was mainly abandoned beer cans and water bottles - he couldn't help feeling that he wouldn't be needed if there was the same deposit system as they have in Germany, The Netherlands and probably other countries.

Adi Gaskell done 100 good deeds with GoodGym.

Adi has just reached another level: 100 good deeds with GoodGym. That's at least 100 times when they could have easily done something easier. But they didn't, Adi has kept going and going. Helping a lot of other people and getting a bit fitter at the same time. Congratulations Adi.

As a writer, "done" rather than "did" is giving me hives.

Well done Adi! I think you should make a complaint to support@goodgym.org about the grammar issue - shocking! 😅

Moving boxes out of the basement

Crystal Palace Report written by Bromley runner

Last month we started work on the basement storage room at Penge Congregational Church, clearing piles of old and worthless books to make extra storage space for community space. We came back to finish the job tonight, and with many hands we made light work! Not only did we shift books, but lots of assorted junk like old blinds and stage lights, creating space on racks and in a cupboard! In 30 mins we made a big difference to the room - fab work everyone!

Plog Like an Egyptian

Lewisham Report written by Paul B (he, him, me duck)

Another double pronged attack on Lewisham litter. Adi was in Sydenham and Paul in Deptford. Adi was keeping Mayow Park looking beautiful in the early morning sun, seeing the return of some Egyptian geese.

Paul struggled in Deptford's Brookmill Park. He'd been away for a couple of weeks and it showed! Eight bags for life full were collected and forced into already overfull bins and an abandoned barbecue broken to prevent any use in the tinder dry park. There was a large patch of tipped clothes and rubbish from a suitcase that had to be reported via Love Clean Streets as there was nowhere to put it.
