Jo & I had a mission today, A welfare check on Mr J, To make sure he was doing okay, And if he was fine then we would go away!

We head up the lift to locate his flat, Knocked on the door, rat-a-tat-tat, He let us in, and on his sofa he sat, We asked how he was and had a nice chat.

Mr J said he was doing fine, In fact the apartment was neater than mine, He had been eating and had food to dine, And with dinner he’d have a glass of wine.

His memory wasn’t great, but he had everything wrote, Down in his diary or on a post-it note, We had a nice talk, and he told us of his boat, His family and his life and his work-time quote!

We were glad to know he was doing alright, There were no concerns from us or him tonight, Everything seemed to be going just right, So off we went, and left, out of site.

*The work time quote was in fact about his time working in the city - and how 12:30 was known as ‘12:thirsty’ and the juniors would all go off for a wine at lunch!
